The Teen Advisory Board in the City of Allen Christmas Parade

The theme of the City of Allen Christmas Parade was "The Music of Christmas". The Teen Advisory Board chose to portray the music from Charlie Brown's Christmas. We made Lucy's yellow Psychiatrist's Stand, Snoopy's red Dog House, and we had a copy of the book and the music. We gave out candy to the crowd, and we even had our own Snoopy (thanks, April!) and Lucy (thanks, Christine!).

After the parade, we had a party in the Meeting Room with hot chocolate and hot cider. And we deserved it!

It was a dark and stormy parade....

Snoopy always started the novel he was writing with “It was a dark and stormy night….” But in our case, it was a dark and stormy parade! Here are pictures of the intrepid TAB starting off the parade with all of our stuff. The yellow sign melted in the rain. Soon we were all huddled under umbrellas!

Virtual Teen Advisory Board Meeting

The first virtual TEEN ADVISORY BOARD of the Allen Public Library will be on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 7:00 pm.

No, this is not an elaborate April Fools Day joke.

The sponsor, Mrs. Saxton, Teen Services Librarian, will be high atop the skyline of Houston at the Texas Library Association's Annual Conference.

TEEN ADVISORY BOARD members are encouraged to participate in an online chat to finalize the plans for the Summer Reading Program: TEXAS TEENS READ: TIME TWISTIN' TTR.09.

Plan to meet virtually here on Thursday, April 2, 2009 at 7:00 pm.
